I have been told (and said to myself) more times than I can count over the last four months:

“Good things come to those who wait.”

Last I wrote, I thought we would be opening soon after. Alas, Mother Nature is not a kind woman and has sent the coldest February in years our way. As a result, the parking lot and driveway to my beautiful new building are frozen; more solid than the arctic tundra and under quite a bit of snow (albeit less than last winter). Due to all of these delays, I have had an awful lot of time to ponder, and it seems that, sometimes, no matter how hard you try, someone, somewhere, has said it better than you.

This couldn’t be truer, as I’ve been laughing an awful lot lately.

Well Andy, I’m not so sure I agree with you here, but I am pretty darn excited for BCVC to open, so maybe you are on to something.

Bergen County Veterinary Center is certainly a place worth going to, and there’s no question we have not taken any shortcuts. Let’s be honest here, who overcame more obstacles than Ms. Keller?

And if you are going to listen to anyone, the Zen Master Pooh is probably one of the best.

So, as I patiently wait for the spring thaw, I am finalizing all the myriad of details that it takes to open a state-of-the-art animal hospital. I, again, thank you all for your incredible patience and loyalty. And a HUGE thank you to Dr. Jay Bucholz and the staff at Maywood Veterinary Clinic for continuing to welcome me and all my clients and their pets.

For those of you not on Facebook, here are some pictures to whet your appetite for the Grand Opening, slated sometime in early spring. Stay warm!!! (And while you are at it, please remember to bring your pets in from the cold: those fur coats only keep them warm for a short while. Just as important, be sure to check out Fido’s feet on a regular basis. The cold pavement combined with salt and de-icers can really do a number on paw pads.)
