Jewel
Customer Service RepresentativeMeet Jewel, an essential member of the BCVC team since 2020, having moved to New Jersey just months before joining. Jewel's journey in animal care began in 2016 during her tenure with the United States Army, where she dedicated herself to providing care for military working dogs and pets of service members. In her downtime, Jewel finds solace in traveling back to the sunny west coast or unwinding with video games in the company of her beloved cat, Kimi.
Adriana
Customer Service Representative
Adriana has been with BCVC since 2023 after transitioning from human medicine with over 18 years of experience. Her love for animals began early in life, spending many years volunteering at animal shelters and sharing her home with a menagerie of animals from Alaskan Malamutes to Bearded Dragons. Adriana helped to jumpstart her brother’s business, The Spicy Shark, and is closely involved in recipe development his hot sauce company. The company is committed to supporting ocean conservation through the Save the Sharks movement.
Jessica
Customer Service RepresentativeJessica is a dedicated animal care professional with over 4 years of experience in the field. Her lifelong passion for nurturing both animals and people began at a young age and continues to drive her work every day. Jessica finds immense joy in witnessing the happiness of her clients and patients, with a genuine smile being the ultimate reward for her efforts. Her commitment to learning and growth extends beyond her professional duties, as she enjoys exploring new knowledge and skills. Outside of work, Jessica cultivates her interests in music and nature. She finds solace in playing the piano and delights in the therapeutic benefits of gardening. At home, Jessica lovingly cares for her Degus, Tyrion and Jamie, who bring laughter and companionship to her life.
Denise
Customer Service Representative
Meet Denise, a dedicated Client Care Representative who has been an invaluable part of our team for over 4 years, with a decade of experience in the veterinary field. From a young age, Denise has been rescuing and caring for homeless animals, a passion that continues to drive her work today. Denise holds an associate's degree in fashion and marketing, but her true love lies in animal care, which she pursues wholeheartedly at BCVC. At home, she proudly cares for JP, her male Pitbull, and seven beloved cats. Denise finds immense joy in her BCVC family, where everyone shares a deep passion and commitment to animal welfare. She finds great fulfillment in helping animals in need, a mission that resonates deeply with her personal and professional life.
Laura
Customer Service Representative
Laura is one of our Client Service Representatives who has been with BCVC for 3 years. She has been passionate about animals since childhood, starting with her own pets. Her career in animal care began in 1994 as a Zookeeper at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and then The North Carolina Zoological Park. Laura also earned her wildlife rehabilitation certification while volunteering at The Ohio Wildlife Center and volunteered as a naturalist for the Columbus Metro Parks for many years. Since 2008, Laura has worked in various roles in veterinary medicine, including Vet Assistant/Technician, as well as Client Service at various clinics before joining BCVC. In addition, she volunteered her time with The Ohio Rabbit Rescue, where she led a team of veterinary students in the “Bunny Spa” area at the annual “Midwest Bunfest.” Laura holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources/Wildlife Management from The Ohio State University. At home, Laura cherishes her 13-year-old Beagle, Hank, and her two cats: Rudy, a 7-year-old Maine Coon mix, and Riley, a 10-month-old Domestic Longhair. Laura finds immense satisfaction in her role at BCVC, where she enjoys fostering relationships between clients and their pets through education, compassion, and support. She particularly values being there for pet owners during both joyful and challenging times. Outside of work, Laura's hobbies include birding, kayaking, photography, baking, crafts, SCUBA diving, 80's rock music, and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team.
Sue
Customer Service Representative
Sue is a Bergen County native, growing up with dogs and rabbits at home. At a young age, she had the privilege of being around Belgian draft horses and other animals on the farm her grandparents had. Sue has spent countless hours volunteering for a therapeutic horse-riding farm dedicated to children with special needs. She is a passionate advocate for the benefits of hippotherapy. Her favorite thing about working at Bergen County Veterinary Center is being able to witness firsthand the love and dedication the practice has for its clients and patients. Sue’s hobbies include horseback riding, hiking, snowshoeing, paddleboarding with her yellow lab Beebe, tending to the honeybees she keeps in her backyard, and finally: spending time with her husband.
